A Change is Gonna Come
Unlike the majority of the continental United States, those of us in the Midwest get to enjoy a wide array of weather throughout the year. I call it enjoy because personally, it's just a bit of fun sometimes to get all wrapped up like the kid from A Christmas Story. Here's a bit of what Madison had to offer for some photos, shot just a bit before we got our massive blizzard, which should be up as soon as possible.

We understand it´s been a minute since we have done a Check Your Six dedicated blog post, need not worry. At the moment we´ve got a reprint of our most popular tee of all time, Roll That, along with a print of a more fun "fixie" tee that we are doing a bit aside from Check Your Six. Both of those should be done this week, perhaps early next, and we'll have some shots up of those tees if anybody needs to do some late Holiday shopping.

If anybody is interested in viewing how I primarily edited some of the pictures for this post, refer to Vintage Effects. And last but not least...well, maybe least too.

Because We Like To
Our friends over at Because We Like To shouted out Check Your Six a little while ago, swoop through these guys' site as soon as you get a moment to take off your jacket, mittens, sweater, and winter hat...or is that just me?

I really enjoyed killing some time perusing the material on this site, as well as the links they have available. They've got some really dope contributors, all deeply rooted in the cultures of art, illustration, apparel, and everything else that one would want to be involved in. They call themselves the "working project" of SuperOrdinary, which is a collection of designers Rob Angermuller, Celeste Prevost, and Josh Wills. I spent the majority of my Sunday afternoon cruising around Lifter Baron, Rob Angermuller's website for showcasing his most recent projects, creations, and "artsy shit".

When It Rains It Snows
The first snow fall of the year brought it down thick and white this weekend...learned later that it was entirely artificially induced.

Mr. Sparkle
I hope everyone remembers the Simpsons episode where Homer finds out that a Japanese company uses his likeness on their laundry detergent - Mr. Sparkle. He contacts the company, makes a trip and the fun ensues. I was browsing my local corner store looking for something tasty to eat when I found this awesome cracker brand called CAUTION BEAR. Funnily enough, this cracker company is the Mr. Sparkle to CY6's roaring bear logo. Is it just me or does it look like the president of the company commissioned his kid to design the bear logo?

My prediction is that mountain bikes are gonna make a resurgence in coolness and popularity very soon. As soon as those dudes figure out there are more than just fixies out there.

When you're rollin through the streets of Beijing you gotta protect ya neck. Who better to always be with you than Shaolin's Wu Tang Clan.

When you think of Beijing you probably think pollution, cars, Olympics...but not decent bike riding. Surprisingly enough though Beijing is a very bike friendly city where drivers are more tolerant than what I've seen in the U.S. Of course this is because so many people in China need to ride bikes for transportation, but only a quick ride from my place I'm in a more desolate area by the mountains.

Trip Part Two: Dali
After Shanghai I dipped over to Dali in the Yunnan province. Yunnan is in Western China and sometimes considered part of the Golden Triangle.
Dali has a separate 'old town' which ia completely surrounded by a wall and towers like this at each entry.

Apparently marijuana grows abunduntly in the wild in this area.

These towers were built in the 9th century.

Some cute kids...no pedo.

Coke is good worldwide.

These guys were more on my level.

Shanghai Trip: Chapter One
My brother recently took a little tip to Shanghai from his place of rest in Beijing. He refuses to tell me why he was there, who he was with, or what the hell he did...But from what I can gather he went to a zoo, perhaps drank some alcohol, and potentially sold some international secrets for a silk Kimono. The first picture he sent is "the second highest building in Shanghai." Oh, and it reminds him of Batman. Here's the rest in the words of James (Obie Trice).

Went next door to the tallest building in China, there is a bar on the 91st floor.

You know I'm really suprised I don't see this more often...

And some random flicks from the zoo

I'll have a ton of good pictures coming up from the rest of the trip...as soon as I rest my legs...
Check Your Six London!
My mom sent me some pictures today from her trip to London. She went around random areas of town in search of graffiti, specifically as much Banksy as possible. Banksy works are really hard to find nowadays, thanks primarily to the British Council cracking down on street artists. Here's some shots of what she managed to get her eyes on in the two days that were dedicated to art hunting, the remainder of the trip was filled with Mott The Hoople concerts. Enjoy!
Located under the footbridge over the Grand Union Canal, (Shepherdess Walk/Eagle Wharf Road), found “Canal Hoodie”.

This one reminds me of Upper Playground for some reason...(And definitely IS NOT a Banksy piece)

I think the monkey head in the bottom is a Banksy piece...talentless bastards always have to ruin something good...They don't make it like they used to.

Banksy’s “Guard and Poodle” at the entrance of this club called Cargo. It’s such a coveted piece that there’s plexiglass covering the image.

Also at Cargo is Banksy’s HMV image (dog shooting a bazooka into an old time megaphone).

And other randoms from around town...

And what would a graffiti post be without some Obey? Even though that Fairey guy's a damn communist...
